Russian defence lawyer Maria Bontsler for a second month in pretrial detention in Königsberg ( Kaliningrad). She used to defend political activists in Königsberg in bogus criminal cases. She defended political prisoners Oleg Savin, Mikhail Feldman, Dmitry Fonarev, Igor Barishnikov and many others. She has a Prussian ancestry as her grands connected to Baron von Bontsler. She is in jail now with trumped up charges of high treason. Since her detention, Bontsler, who suffers from severe chronic hypertension, has been denied essential medical care. Human rights organizations and UN experts have called for her immediate release and access to medical care. Concerns have also been raised about the vagueness of Article 275.1 (high treason) of the Russian Criminal Code, which may be used to target human rights defenders. She is just another hostage.
